February 2010

Dear Parents:

The students have enjoyed the Catholic Schools Week activities. Please join us for
the Home and School spaghetti supper Friday, February 5 beginning at 5:30.
Students will be presenting some of the music curriculum activities at 6:30. Thank
you to Julie Dalman and Heidi Nordwall for organizing this event to end 2010
Catholic Schools Week celebration.

Congratulations to the students for raising $750 for Feed My Starving Children.
This organization is preparing meals to be sent to Haiti.

The Kindergarten and Fourth Grade students organized a cookie sale to also
raise money for Haiti. If you ordered cookies, these will be available for pick up at
the spaghetti supper. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a
successful sale. The proceeds are not final at this time, but sales were close to
$700. Our students and their families have always been so caring and generous
with those in need.

LATE START Monday, February 15. Buses will pick up students 1 hour and 45
minutes late.

School registrations for next year are being accepted. If you have your completed
registration forms returned by Tuesday, February 16, you may pay $25 per
student as the registration fee.  Thank you for registering early. This helps us plan
for next year in ordering materials.

Friday, February 19
NO SCHOOL for Kindergarten students only.

Friday, February 19 we will be holding our Kindergarten Open House and
Registration. Families interested in having their child attend Kindergarten at St.
Joseph School are asked to attend this meeting from 9:00 to 11:00. You will have
an opportunity to meet the staff, visit the classroom and learn more about our
school. If you know of families that are looking for a Christian family-oriented
school for their child, let them know about the open house. If you are attending,
please contact the school office so materials can be prepared for you.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are being scheduled for Thursday, February 25.
Your family conference schedule will be sent home with students next week.

The 100th Day of School is February 12. Last year we asked each student to
bring in a donation for the food shelf at St. Joseph. We collected 167 products last
year. We hope to collect even more this year. The students will form a chain to
move the products from the school to the church basement. Thank you for helping
the needy of our area.

Thank you to all the parents who helped to make Catholic Schools Week
successful.

Planning ahead for Spring Break, March 15-19, there will be no school. Enjoy!
